On-Site Network Cabling Technician

BCIC Swiss GmbH | Best Connect International is looking for an experienced On-Site Network Cabling Technician to join our team for a short-term on-site Dispatch assignment in Hamburg, Germany.

Responsibilities

• ➡️ Install and run Ethernet cables from each Samsung QMB Series TV to the designated network switch.
• ➡️ Connect 5 Samsung QMB Series TVs to Switch DE-298 – Europa Passage – Switch01.
• ➡️ Connect the TVs to the assigned switch ports: 10, 13, 17, 18, and 19.
• ➡️ Use backup switch ports 20 and 21 if required.
• ➡️ Ensure the TVs are connected to the pre-configured VLAN 30 – External.
• ➡️ Perform a power cycle on each TV after connecting the Ethernet cables.
• ➡️ Confirm that each TV successfully establishes a wired network connection.
• ➡️ Verify all physical Ethernet connections and assigned switch ports.
• ➡️ Troubleshoot any cable, connectivity, or device-related issues encountered during the installation.
• ➡️ Confirm that all five TVs are successfully connected and functioning on the wired network.
• ➡️ Notify the designated contact once all connections have been successfully completed.
• ➡️ Report any technical or connectivity issues identified during the assignment.

Requirements

1. Experience with Ethernet Cabling and Network Cabling.
2. Knowledge of LAN Connectivity.
3. Basic understanding of Network Switches and Switch Port Identification.
4. Basic knowledge of VLANs, particularly VLAN configuration and connectivity.
5. Experience with Wired Network Connectivity.
6. Ability to perform Cable Troubleshooting.
7. Experience with Device Connectivity and Network Setup.
8. Basic Network Troubleshooting skills.
9. Ability to work independently in an on-site/dispatch environment.
10. Availability for on-call dispatch assignments.
11. Good practical knowledge of connecting and troubleshooting network-enabled devices.
12. Fluency in Germany and English
